Andre’ Walker

Andre’ Walker was born and raised in the Trinity Gardens area of Houston Texas.  He is a 1991 graduate of Kashmere Senior High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Texas Southern University.  He also received his Master’s in Education from Prairie A&M University, where he is presently pursuing his doctoral degree in Education.     

Andre’ begun his teaching career at Houston ISD Key Middle School in 2000 where he taught Math, History, and Physical Education as well as coached football, basketball, and track.  He also served as an Assistant Principal at Key Middle School for one year before serving in the same capacity at Kashmere Senior High School for three years.  Andre’ was promoted to the district’s Athletic Department in 2012. Andre’ has been promoted to HISD Athletic Director overseeing 24 high schools and 43 middle schools. The programs include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swim, tennis, volleyball, wrestling and track.

Andre’ is an active member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). In 2012, Andre’ received the distinction of Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) from the NIAAA.  He serves as a Citizenship and Equity committee member for the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS).  He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches, the Texas Girls Coaches Association, the Texas High School Athletic Director Association, and the Houston Coaches Association.  Andre’ also serves as vice-president for the community based organization, Greater Houston Development, Inc.

He is married to Tiffanie Walker and they have two sons –Andre’ Walker II and Aiden Walker.
